This position works in and assists the Department’s Environmental Review Program, with primary responsibilities to review project applications filed under state, federal, and local regulatory jurisdictions and affecting land and water resources in the State of Maine. The position will work with regional fisheries, wildlife, and research staff, review input received for consistency with Department objectives and legal requirements and provide formal recommendations on behalf of MDIFW under the guidance of the Environmental Review Coordinator and Environmental Program Supervisor. Position duties may also include entering relevant information into the Department’s environmental review database, helping to administer centralized permit application review functions, responding to public information and data requests in a timely manner, and other related tasks as necessary. Work will be conducted primarily in the office, with some related field investigations as needed. Specific job duties may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and skills.

To support the services that WMI provides to our partners, we are seeking additional capacity through the addition of a Grants Specialist. The Grants Specialist will work with the Grants Manager on the two major programs of WMI services: Grants/Contracts and Limited Term Employees.

A position is available for a highly qualified individual to work in a joint capacity with Wildlife Management Institute, Inc. (WMI) and Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to help manage the natural resources, maintain beauty and safety of Iowa’s state parks and engage with the public to promote our DNR mission.
