This position is housed within the Fisheries Section and will work out of one of the Regional Headquarters listed above. This is professional services and scientific work at the technician level, involving field work to support management of the State’s fisheries by protecting, preserving, and enhancing Maine’s natural resources. Responsibilities include aiding senior level resource biologists by collecting field and laboratory data and using established survey and assessment methodologies. This position reports to the IFW Regional Fisheries Resource Supervisor. Work is performed under general supervision, includes occasional night and weekend work, and may be performed outside in all weather conditions.

The successful applicant will play an instrumental role in achieving the PPJV’s goals and objectives by managing all aspects of business operations including tracking budgets, cooperative agreements, grants, and administrative functions. The position leads and manages PPJV operations and administrative tasks to achieve a high level of accountability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency in implementation of business functions. The position supports JV staff in strategic planning, initiative development, and work planning by identifying and conveying alignment of the PPJV’s conservation objectives, business model, and partnership opportunities.
