The Northeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (NEAFWA) has announced its first cohort of an adaptive leadership program modeled on the National Conservation Leadership Institute. The application period for this cohort is closed and the program will begin October 5, 2025, and conclude March 13, 2026.

Using the same teaching approach and some trainers and coaches from previous programs, the Northeast Leadership Development Program is expanding the NCLI’s broad style of thinking about, diagnosing, and solving conservation issues in the northeast region. The program organizers recruited staff participants from NEAFWA state agencies and partner organizations and will focus their discussions on NEAFWA-related conservation challenges.

WMI thanks New Jersey Assistant Commissioner of New Jersey Fish and Wildlife, Dave Golden for championing this effort and maintaining the continuity of the NCLI programming and adapting it to focus on regional issues.
