The Milwaukee Hilton City Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will host the 75th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference on March 22 to 27, 2010. More than 1,100 leaders of the continent's professional natural resource management community are expected to gather for the five-day business meeting. The theme for the conference is "Honing Conservation Imperatives: Insights and Foresights."

The Hilton Milwaukee City Center, a historic hotel located in the heart of downtown, a few blocks from Lake Michigan, is close to numerous museums, shopping areas and other attractions. The hotel reservation deadline is March 5, but attendees are encouraged to make arrangements well before then.

More than 100 meetings and events already have been scheduled, by the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, National Military Fish and Wildlife Association, flyway councils, federal agencies and partner organizations. The Opening Session will take place on Wednesday morning, March 24, and feature three keynote speakers. It will be followed by four concurrent, two-hour Special Sessions that will address key conservation issues: "Ecosystem Service Markets: Funding Tools for Conservation," "Active or Passive Management of Public Lands: Implications to Fish and Wildlife Conservation and Recreation," "The Power of Partnerships in Bird Conservation" and "What Does Green Really Mean?" Cochairs for each of the Special Sessions have been working for months to bring together the latest information and most relevant speakers for these timely issues.

Three workshops are planned for early in the week. Two climate change workshops will be held on Monday, March 22?"Decision Making in the Face of Scientific Uncertainty: Adaptive Management for Climate Change" in the morning, and "Town Hall Meeting: The Impacts of Climate Change Legislation on Natural Resources Conservation" in the afternoon. On Tuesday, a morning and afternoon workshop titled "Transformation of State Fish & Wildlife Agencies: Challenges and Opportunities for Leader" will be conducted. Workshop participation is open to all registered Conference attendees and there is no additional cost.
