Regional Conservation Needs Program

Running from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028, WMI manages subaward reporting, payments, and match documentation for 15 state agencies within the Northeast Association of Wildlife Agencies (NEAFWA). This program supports regionally prioritized projects, including:

  • Northeast Pollinator and Important SGCN Insect Conservation Action Coordinator
  • Comprehensive Conservation Assessment of All Cicindelidae (Tiger Beetles) in the Northeastern Region
  • Northeastern USA Status Assessment of SGCN Stoneflies (Insecta, Plecoptera)
  • Coordinated Assessment of Northeastern Diamond-backed Terrapin Populations
  • Assessing Regional Trends, Effects, and Strategies to Mitigate Impacts and Identifying Data Gaps Regarding Renewable Energy Project Installations
  • Technical Services Support for Northeast Fish and Wildlife Diversity Technical Committee
