Cooperative Research Unit Support

Cooperative Research Unit Support

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Cooperative Research Units (CRUs) are partnerships between the USGS, universities, state natural resource agencies, and the Wildlife Management Institute. CRUs primary mission is to conduct applied research to address natural resource management challenges. CRUs focus on fish, wildlife, and natural resource conservation by providing scientific data and expertise. They also play a significant role in training graduate students and supporting educational programs in ecology and resource management. With units located at universities across the country, they foster collaboration between scientists, students, and resource managers to solve pressing environmental issues.
