The Wildlife Management Institute (WMI) and its partners have created a forum to create a refined set of Foundational Elements of Fish and Wildlife Conservation that is current and forward-looking. The questionnaire seeks to gain insights from practitioners, policymakers, and academics about policy items to include in a future list of Foundational Elements. With over 1,200 responses already received and professional societies recently sending a request for more input, WMI has extended the questionnaire deadline to July 1.
Act now to share your insights on the Foundational Elements of Fish and Wildlife Conservation - the survey closes July 1.
The American Fisheries Society sent an appeal to participate to its members in early June. We really appreciate their effort to improve the representativeness of the fish and fisheries issues in the creation of new Foundational Elements. The Wildlife Society also included a second appeal in their most recent newsletter to let people know they still have an opportunity to contribute. We deeply appreciate the professional societies for their efforts to aid in this project.
WMI seeks to receive as many perspectives as possible. This is your opportunity to improve existing policies or innovate the statements that could inform current and future practitioners. We look forward to receiving your feedback as soon as possible. The questionnaire will now be closing July 1, 2026.
